Have you ever wondered why there aren’t more binoculars with digital cameras attached? Well, Bushnell’s digital binoculars answers that question easily: there are.

Image View is a collection of Bushnell digital binoculars that can snap photos or shoot video of whatever you’re looking at through the lenses. And there are quite a few models to choose from.

Whether you’re on a hunting trip, sightseeing tour, or nature walk outing, you can have the option of sharing those beautiful vistas and up-close views with your friends and family at home. The Bushnell Image View makes it possible.

Best Bushnell Image View Binoculars: Review

These Bushnell digital camera binoculars combine two worlds: outdoor optics and image capturing. Some models offer better resolution than others (just as some offer better magnification than others), but the result is the same. In the end, you get to take home those far-away binocular sights with you.

There are more than half a dozen models in the Bushnell Image View series. The magnification range starts at 7x (as with the ultra compact 7×18 pocket binocs) and goes up to 10x (featured in the 10×25 model). The objective lens selection is also fairly expansive for a digital camera binocular line: with the low end at 18mm and the high at 30mm.

But whichever magnification and objective lens model you choose, know that all of these products are highly portable devices.

As far as the camera attachments go, don’t expect these to be state-of-the-art snappers.

The lowest resolution you’ll find is 1.3 megapixels and the highest is only 3.2 mp. These are definitely binoculars first and cameras second. But even so, these models offer decent-quality photo taking capabilities so you’ll never wonder what exactly it was you were looking at on the mountain or in the valley.

The older models of Bushnell digital camera binocs have limited features, but the newer ones are built with flip-up LCD display screens for playback and video capture facilities.

On the down side, these don’t have the greatest all around specifications. They are good binoculars and okay cameras, but they aren’t really great in either respect. The Bushnell Image View 8×30 models are the most popular of the bunch because they have the best binocular construction and a fairly respectable camera, but they still lack in both departments.

These also aren’t very durable products. Neither waterproof nor shock-proof, you have to be very careful when taking these into the wilderness. This makes them less than ideal for hunters and absolutely worthless for boaters.

Bushnell Digital Camera Binoculars: Image View Customer Reviews

Let’s hear from the consumer community now. Here’s a sampling of their pros and cons to give you a better idea of whether or not Bushnell digital camera binoculars are right for you.

Consumers like:

  • Compact and lightweight bodies
  • Doesn’t require two hands to operate
  • Reasonably priced
Consumers don’t like:

  • No SD card storage
  • Not user-friendly
  • Poor quality photos

Bushnell Image View: Summary

The Bottom Line – Bushnell digital camera binoculars were made with good intentions. It’s a great idea to be able to take photos of what you see through your binoculars—and you certainly can do that with these. But the resolution is so poor and the user interface so unfriendly, that they seem to be more trouble than they’re worth. Fortunately, they’re pretty inexpensive, so you can give them a test run if they strike your fancy. But bear in mind that, more likely than not, you’ll end up disappointed.
